The Coordinator will also recommend and assist with the creation and/or update of laboratory exercises and student requirements. Oversight, management and maintenance of the laboratory classrooms, including supplies (including culture media and bacterial cultures) and equipment, is also required. In addition, the Coordinator will teach laboratory sections and provide advice and counsel to the respective students within those course sections.Minimum Qualifications

Master’s Degree or higher in Biological Sciences, Microbiology, or a sub-discipline of Biology. (conferred on an official transcript at the time of application.)

Minimum one (1) year experience, which may include related graduate / teaching assistantship.

Teaching undergraduate Biological Sciences and/or microbiology labs at a College or University.

Preferred Qualification

Demonstrated commitment to fostering a diverse working and learning environment.

Strong background or experience in General Biology.

Strong background or experience in Microbiology.

Knowledge of experimental procedures and design related to microbiology.

Experience with basic chemical solution preparation, culture media preparation, and safety.

Expertise or experience in laboratory setup for undergraduate microbiology and general biology courses.

Demonstrated ability to supervise teaching assistants, or strong potential for successful supervision.

Knowledge of safety procedures concerning agar preparation and bacterial/viral cultures.

Excellent communication, interpersonal and presentation skills.

The salary range denoted above is the contractual range; however, salary upon hire is dependent upon qualifications and experience.
