The Perioperative Preadmission Nurse is responsible for obtaining all preoperative assessments and testing for all surgical patients.

The Perioperative Preadmission Nurse also facilitates consultation from other healthcare team members, as appropriate to assure the surgical patient is adequately prepared to undergo upcoming procedures and/or surgery.

The Perioperative Preadmission Nurse must have a knowledge base related to sedation anesthesia, physiological and psychological responses to such and must be systematic in nature and use the nursing process, decision-making, analytical and scientific thinking and inquiry.

The Perioperative Preadmission Nurse collaborates with other members of the perioperative care team to assure patients receive the preoperative and postoperative care required to meet their individual needs.

QualificationsGraduate from an accredited school of nursingCurrent unrestricted licensure as a Registered Nurse in the state of MinnesotaCurrent BCLS prior to employmentCompletion of St. Gabriel’s general orientation program obtained within 90 days of employmentAdvanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) and Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) must be obtained within 12 months of hirePreferredRecent experience in a perioperative nursing setting, preferably specific preadmission settingPay Range$39.22 - $52.92 /hourWe are an equal opportunity/affirmative action employer.
