Join the talented, engaged and inclusive workforce dedicated to creating a better Minnesota.This position exists to supervise and perform the operation, maintenance, repair and alterations of the primary and secondary electrical systems at Camp Ripley.Minimum Qualifications

Must possess a valid MN Class A Master Electrician License.

Must possess a valid MN driver's license.

Must have a minimum of 5 yrs. experience as a Journeyman Electrician working in a commercial environment.

Current on NEC codes and requirements.

Knowledge of the principles of primary and secondary electrical distribution systems. Experience in installation and troubleshooting of motor control systems.

Must be proficient in maintaining work records and reports on electrical systems. Experience with power monitoring systems.

Experience in detecting complex electrical problems and determining a resolution. Basic knowledge of Microsoft computer programs, including Word and Excel.

Communications/human relations skill sufficient to create a positive environment and professional, cooperative working relationships.

Must be creative in utilizing limited manpower and resources to accomplish required maintenance and repair work.

Preferred Qualifications

Broad knowledge of generator operations. Current on NFPA 70E requirements.

Trained in Lock Out/Tag Out procedures. Trained in ARC Flash protection.

Training and experience in Aerial Man Lift operations.

Knowledgeable in Variable Frequency Drives - installations and programming. Understands and can perform medium voltage cable installation, repair and splicing.

Involved in development and implementation of Preventative Maintenance Programs for electrical system and equipment.

Heavy equipment operator experience. Leadership and team experience.

Successful completion of study in an accredited college or university in building trades, or related business or vocational school training.

Physical RequirementsAbility to perform repetitive motions with various type of equipment and tools on a regular basis. Require occasionally lifting article of 50 pound weight maximum and frequently lifting and / or carrying object such as heavy tools and tool boxes. This job may require working, including walking or standing, for prolonged periods of time. This job may also require working outside in inclement weather conditions. Some equipment operation may involve extended period of time with pushing and pulling of arm and /or leg controls. Ability to climb and work off ladders. Ability to work in confined space with limited room to maneuver.
