The individual in this position must be capable of performing assigned tasks necessary to integrate core components of DOC chemical dependency programs, as well as mental health considerations, in a continuum of care. These tasks would include thorough knowledge of Department of Corrections Programs and available community resources. This individual needs thorough knowledge of chemical dependency, mental health, psychopathology, group/ individual therapy, psycho-educational programming, evaluative measures and security.Work is in a Minnesota Correctional Facility Lino Lakes with direct contact with incarcerated persons.Minimum QualificationsTo be qualified for and considered for this position, applicants must meet all the minimum qualifications listed below. Ensure that your resume contains descriptions of your work experiences sufficient for comparison against the requirements stated below and indicate the beginning and ending month and year for each job held.LICENSURE/EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:

Current licensure or eligibility for licensure by the Minnesota Board of Behavioral Health and Therapy as an Alcohol and Drug Counselor (LADC) or equivalently qualified to perform chemical dependency treatment under Minnesota Statute 148F.11.

(NOTE TO LICENSE-ELIGIBLE APPLICANTS: Please include information regarding your license-eligibility in your resume or application. To maintain employment, the successful candidate who is eligible for LADC licensure must possess a temporary ADC permit within 60 calendar days of the first day of employment and a current LADC license within the probationary period.)AND

Three years post-licensure experience providing clinical services, including individual and group therapy, to clients with chemical dependency and/or co-occurring chemical dependency and mental health issues; OR a Bachelor‘s degree in Psychology, Social Work or a related Behavioral Science or Social Science program and three years of post-Bachelor‘s degree experience as described above; OR a Master‘s degree in one of the above degree programs and one year of post-Master‘s degree experience as described above; OR a Psy.D. or Ph.D. in Psychology.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:

Comprehensive knowledge and skills in all aspects of chemical dependency programming.

Training and experience in providing behavioral health treatment, including individual and group therapy methods and practices.

Knowledge of professional, legal, and ethical standards; best practices; and community standards of care.

Skills in verbal and written communication, including proficient documentation skills.

Interpersonal/human relations skills.

Basic personal computer skills.

Ability to provide lead work direction to other chemical dependency treatment program staff.

Ability to formulate and implement an individualized treatment plan; provide chemical dependency treatment; and develop a continuing care plan under limited supervision.

Ability to teach a psycho-educational course; effectively function within a multidisciplinary team; exercise sound judgment; demonstrate appropriate professional boundaries; and temporarily manage daily program operations.

Current Minnesota licensure or licensure eligible as a Mental Health Professional (e.g., LICSW, LP, LPCC, and LMFT) as defined by Minnesota Statute 245.462 subd. 18, clause 1-6. (NOTE: Applicants that are within one year of educational requirements for licensure may be considered for a provisional appointment until fully licensed.)

Experience providing lead work direction to other behavioral health staff.

Master’s degree in psychology, Social Work or a related Behavioral Science or Social Science program or a Psy.D. or Ph.D. in Psychology.
