The actual offer may vary, reflecting the candidate's unique blend of experience, educational background, and skill level.The impact you will make in this role:To provide essential operational support, training, and coordination for field crews in Transmission Construction, Transmission Maintenance, and Substation Construction. Position will assist with the implementation of transmission line health initiatives, training programs, and compliance systems, while fostering collaboration with internal and external stakeholders to enhance safety, efficiency, and skill development within the transmission line departments.

Evaluate results of the Transmission Line Health Initiative in partnership with Transmission Design Engineering. Execute resultant workplans through a work management process. Partner with appropriate Area Supervisor and Manager, Transmission Line on effective resolution for budgetary and field line resources.

In collaboration with the System Operations Center (SOC), develop, implement, and deliver a consistent switching and reliability training program for internal field workers, member cooperative field staff, and other industry groups. Maintain and monitor the program for field operations and devise long-term solutions to improve response times and enhance skill development for response partners.

Implement an order of inspection and control tracking system for lineworker equipment and PPE, including but not limited to cleaning and wax criteria for aerial assets, hot sticks, grounds testing, and rubber goods replacements. Ensure compliance through work order management monitoring. Collaborate with relevant business partners, such as Safety and Fleet Operations to adhere to OSHA standards and manufacturer recommendations wherever appropriate.

Develop, maintain, and implement a comprehensive onboarding matrix tailored and aligned to Safety and HR policies for all new hires in the Transmission Line or Substation Construction area. Ensure all new hires to Transmission Line are thoroughly trained according to the matrix parameters before being assigned to their respective leaders.

Represent Transmission Line as the Subject Matter Expert on the Operating Experience Steering Committee. Assist or lead incident event analysis to identify root causes and establish corrective action plans.

Coordinate and plan on an annual basis Hot Stick training. Collaborate with internal stakeholders and represent Transmission Line to lead Hot Stick School training. Actively engage business partners and vendors in advance to ensure a successful event.

Represent Transmission Line in partnership with Real Estate and Right-of-Way and other internal departments regarding “house move/large equipment move” requests. Provide field review and follow the workflow from investigation through final invoice billing to ensure a successful outcome.

Organize and schedule monthly or bi-monthly safety meetings across the Transmission Line organization. Deliver safety messages as appropriate in lieu of Area Supervisors. Coordinate other Safety related items with the Safety organization as needed for Transmission Line.

Track regulatory and industry requirement changes and identify skill deficiencies through opportunity reviews and general observations. Provide leadership with appropriate knowledge regarding any relevant discoveries.

Participate in industry events pertaining to transmission line work. This includes events such as MTAG, TDMMA, NATF, Utility Expo, etc., with the expectation to collaborate and incorporate ideas learned into Transmission Line. Represent Transmission Line as the subject matter expert to other internal and external stakeholder groups.

Assist Area Supervisors and Manager, Transmission Line in preparations for budgeting and procurement activities as needed. Execute purchase requisitions for equipment, tooling, materials, etc. and evaluate equipment and tooling suppliers within budgetary constraints.

Conduct job site observations and establish a field presence amongst the Transmission Line teams.

Assist with managing storm restoration efforts.

Perform other duties as assigned.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:Education & Experience: Technical degree in high voltage work (Linework, Substation Mech, Electrical Maintenance), with 5 years of related experience required. An equivalent combination of education and experience will also be considered. Leadership experience preferred.Skills: Knowledge of electric transmission system and equipment required. Proficient computer skills with an emphasis on Microsoft Office Tools (Word, PowerPoint, Outlook Etc.) Fundamental knowledge of budgeting required Strong verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills, with the ability to interface effectively with individuals at various levels. Organizational skills with a strong attention to detail.Licenses and Certifications:Class A CDL required.Physical Demands: The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear. The employee frequently is required to stand/sit; walk; use hands/fingers to manage or feel; and reach with hands and arms.Requires near vision and fingering for computer terminal operation. Near and far vision, hearing and the following physical abilities are required for fieldwork: Walk, stand, stoop/crouch, bend, kneel, climb hand-over-hand, crawl, twist upper body, reach/stretch, and object maneuvering.Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.Environmental Demands: Position will be 50 percent of time spent in a climate-controlled office environment with minimal physical exertion other 50 percent of time will involve fieldwork with a medium degree of strenuous activity. Possible exposure to noise, harsh environments and unusual heights associated with large-scale construction projects. Will work near heavy construction equipment, high speed rotating machinery, high voltage, high amperage electrical equipment and high pressure/high temperature equipment systems and components.Other Job Characteristics: Occasional extended travel. Some weekend work expected.
