The Supply Chain Supervisor will serve as a working supervisor for a team of Material Controllers who are responsible for purchased and manufactured parts for global Industrial aftermarket and production demands.
GENERAL RESPONISIBILITIES:
Responsible for training and development of staff, estimating personnel needs, assigning work and meeting completion dates
Oversees day-to-day aspects of function. Has impact on budgeting, controlling costs, planning, scheduling, and procedural change.
Manage material groups for purchased parts to support the global business needs for both aftermarket and production demands
Support action items from Tier I, II & III meetings
Minimize parts inventory investment while eliminating customer backorders and production shortages globally
Manage material shortages and custom backorders, expediting materials from suppliers, through manufacturing work centers or from outside processing suppliers
Evaluate critical data from the safety stock program, and the first pass fill rate performance in managing the inventory
Ensure material master data is current and accurate
Manage MRP settings in SAP to ensure optimal performance
Work with suppliers to ensure that delivery performance (correct date and quantity) is acceptable
Coordinate Stock Transfer Orders to locations for your assigned material groups
Support the analysis of excess inventory for assigned material group(s)
Work with vendors on corrective action and improvement plans when supply performance is below expectations.
Lead continuous improvement activities and identify opportunities to eliminate waste in the supply chain.
Create standardized methods of planning
Interact closely with the manufacturing/distribution sites to achieve service level goals for aftermarket parts and minimize production shortages.
REQUIRED EXPERIENCE & EDUCATION:
A Bachelor's degree in supply chain, engineering, business, or computer science
6+ years experience in supply chain or purchasing.
Previous experience in materials management or purchasing preferred.
Experience in Continuous Improvement and Lean manufacturing.
APIC’s (CPIM/CSCP) certification preferred.
Must be eligible to work in the United States without sponsorship
REQUIRED INTERPERSONAL & BEHAVIORAL SKILLS:
Demonstrated project leadership experience in a high mix low volume distribution/manufacturing environment.
Ability to proactively analyze usage trends, delivery performance, and manage inventory levels.
Proficient with ERP systems (SAP a plus) and Microsoft Excel.
Strong project leadership skills and ability to drive sustainable process improvement. Experience with standardized work and PFEP (plan for every part) a bonus.
