Individuals must be legally authorized to work in the US at the start of employment.This position will assist the MnDOT Golden Valley Central Resident Engineer in the administration of construction contracts and office activities. Specifically, this position will be charged with the supervision of administration assigned construction contracts; preparation of construction plans and specifications; administration of utility agreements; and supervision of inspection personnel.Minimum Qualifications
Licensure as a professional civil engineer with the Minnesota Board of Architecture, Engineering, Land Surveying, Landscape Architecture, Geoscience and Interior Design (AELSLAGID) or ability to obtain licensure through Comity (Reciprocity). (If obtaining licensure through Comity, a temporary permit from AELSLAGID must be provided to MnDOT HR prior to starting employment.)
Engineer 2 Graduate:
A Bachelor‘s degree in Civil Engineering or related from an ABET accredited college or university AND two years post-graduation civil engineering work.
OR
A Master’s degree in Civil Engineering from an accredited college/university or equivalent AND one year post-graduation civil engineering work.
AND
A passing score on the Fundamentals of Engineering (FE) exam.
Required at both the Engineer Senior and Engineer 2 Graduate levels:
Knowledge of Windows based operating systems, spreadsheet and word-processing software applications as well as project scheduling software.
Work experience that demonstrates knowledge of principles and practices of highway and bridge construction, engineering, and contract administration.
Supervisory or leadwork experience and skills sufficient to ensure construction projects are completed in a timely manner.
A valid Class D Driver‘s License with no major traffic convictions in the past 5 years.
If advanced to the finalist pool, in addition to the preceding minimum qualifications, you will be assessed on the following criteria during a job interview:
Human relations skills sufficient to develop and maintain effective working relationships with key internal and external stakeholders.
Oral and written communication skills sufficient to effectively present technical information to a wide variety of internal and external customers.
Preferred Qualifications
Preference will be given to those who have two years of Contract Administration experience.
