OverviewM Health Fairview is looking for a hardworking Registered Nurse at our Wound Care Center on the Southdale Campus in Edina, MN. This is a casual position meaning all hours are as needed.Responsibilities Job DescriptionThe Registered Nurse is responsible for the assessment, planning, delivery, and evaluation of nursing care for all assigned patient population(s). The RN performs these responsibilities in accordance with all policy, procedures, professional practice guidelines and the MN Nurse Practice Act. The RN coordinates care with members of the health care team and delegates responsibilities to others as appropriate. The out-patient clinic provides consultation, education, and direct care for patients with needs in the areas of chronic non healing wounds. RNs collaborate with physicians, medical assistants and other health care subject areas to determine treatment protocols, and facilitate quality outcomes incorporating current and standard process guidelines.WOC Nursing provides consultation, education and direct care for patients with needs in the area of chronic wounds. WOC Nursing collaborates with physicians and other health care disciplines to determine best treatment protocols and facilitate quality outcomes for wound care patients. WOC Nursing incorporates current research and best practice guidelines for the care of wound patients.

Cares for simple and complex wounds and skin care injuries

Provides guidance in pressure ulcer prevention, surveillance, and treatment.

Evaluates innovative wound care products and devices and influence product choices through teamwork with other patient caregivers

Completes appropriate documentation, maintains test results in chart, orders and tracks any diagnostic procedures, appointments, equipment, supplies, prescriptions and charge sheets.

Provides education to patients, support network and other healthcare professionals related to wound care. Reviews Plan of Care; documents Ancillary Services, completes Patient Home Instructions

Actively participates within the clinic team; developing wound plans of care; advocating for patient care needs. Guides and collaborates on overall care and coordinates any care needed between visits. Stays updated on healing rate vs. desired healing rate.

Assures debridement consent is complete if needed, Calls Time Out prior to debridement and then documents

Knowledge of current pressure ulcer practice guidelines, pressure ulcer etiology and treatment modalities

Creative and critical thinking abilities, interpersonal communication skill

Knowledge of current best practices in wound care

Ability to adequately perform telephone triage

QualificationsRequired Qualifications

MN RN License

BLS for Health Care Provider

Baccalaureate Degree

1 or more years WOC clinic experience

Certified Wound, Ostomy, Continence Nurse (CWOCN)
