IO Engineer

EMPLOYER: Optum Services, Inc. JOB TITLE: IO Engineer LOCATION: 11000 Optum Circle, Eden Prairie, MN 55344 DUTIES: Ensure systems and network performance availability in the physical and virtual infrastructure utilizing various monitoring tools to diagnose, improve, and troubleshoot. Duties include: Collaborate with vendors and clients; Participate in weekly and/or monthly infrastructure maintenance exercises; Provide subject matter expertise while working in highly available data center environments that span across multiple geographical locations; Record and maintain hardware and software inventories, licensing, and user access and security; Serve as a subject-matter expert on internal projects that help build collaboration, scalability, and secure all environments; Demonstrate the need for security fundamentals and ensure policies and procedures are executed across the environment; Utilize security best practices to remediate findings in security audits; Support firewall administration; Work on routing, switching, load balancing, and performance monitoring; and Support networking fundamentals. Telecommuting is available from anywhere in the U.S. REQUIREMENTS: Employer will accept a Bachelor s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Computer Information Systems, or related field and 5 years of experience in the job offered or in a related computer occupation. Position requires 5 years of experience in the following: Supporting or managing Microsoft Windows server Technologies in large scale enterprise infrastructure environments; Server engineering and administration such as load balancing, Information security or network operations; Information security and network operations; VMWare, vSphere/ESXi, Microsoft Hyper-V, or public cloud; Windows Server infrastructure such as Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, GPO, or Profile Management; and VMM, IPAM, Kemp, Veeam, Tenable, Total Uptime, Datadog, WhatsUp Gold, Host monitor, Lansweeper, or PagerDuty.
