Job Title: Field Service Technician1ST SHIFTDirect Placement $65-$84KJob DescriptionAs a Field Service Technician, you will primarily travel locally within the Twin Cities area, with occasional overnight travel once or twice a quarter. You will troubleshoot and repair various pieces of equipment using your knowledge of hydraulics and electronics. You will operate hand tools and other equipment, order necessary parts, complete required paperwork, and ensure all functions and specifications are correct.Responsibilities
Troubleshoot problems on various equipment based on customer descriptions.
Operate hand tools and equipment.
Initiate ordering of necessary parts to make repairs.
Complete required paperwork.
Check for leaks, loose fittings, and ensure tolerances and torque specifications are correct.
Test pressures and record them on the test sheet.
Communicate with supervisor when there are problems on a job.
Assist in scheduling daily tasks and promote future work to meet utilization requirements.
Direct customer interaction and communication.
Make recommendations for procedural or job function changes.
Perform other job-related duties assigned by management.
Essential Skills
Knowledge of basic hydraulics and 12-volt electrical systems.
Knowledge of wiring stop/start systems and ability to use a programmer.
Knowledge of sizes of fittings and hydraulic hoses.
Ability to operate a saw for cutting steel.
Ability to operate a plasma cutter.
Ability to use an oxygen/acetylene torch.
Ability to adjust pressures and reliefs.
Basic math skills.
Ability to read and understand electrical and hydraulic schematics.
Mechanical design and practical experience in hydraulics, structural or mechanical layout.
High level of mechanical aptitude related to the commercial truck industry.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
Current Federal Medical Examination Card.
Ability to obtain a DOT Card.
Technical understanding of hydraulics and electrical systems.
Technical college degree desired, or structured on-the-job training program successfully completed.
2 years’ experience in field service of heavy equipment.
