Growing together.You’ll enjoy the flexibility to work remotely from anywhere within the U.S. as you take on some tough challenges.Primary Responsibilities:The Compensation Director will lead all compensation related strategies and activities in support of the Market Group and Segment goals including:

Provide a full spectrum of consulting and analytical compensation services by translating business and segment strategic direction into meaningful compensation programs

Apply best practice compensation principles to provide customized, enterprise-aligned compensation solutions designed to support business, team and leadership strategies

Proactively complete needs analysis, problem identification, and recommendations, influencing decision-making at all levels within the organization

Partner with executive leaders and the people team to develop appropriate compensation strategies, policies, programs, and communications

Represent the business segments in the design, development, and implementation of initiatives and conversely represent shared services in business initiatives

Participate directly on enterprise-wide compensation projects including policy and program development and automated solutions

Directly manage compensation resources to deliver design, analysis, implementation and on-going administration of compensation programs

Effectively communicate with peers, People Team Partners and Leaders by proactively sharing information, analysis and solutions, as appropriate

Manage/support Year-in-Review activities and other Core Process activities (e.g., pay equity, annual market pricing, incentive administration, communications, training, reporting)

Perform due diligence related to mergers/acquisitions (e.g., reviewing existing programs, compliance levels, identify gaps) and mapping/harmonization of acquired employees to internal compensation structures/programs

10+ years of People Team experience (emphasis in Compensation)

Demonstrated experience partnering with multiple constituents and managing in a matrix relationship environment

Proven experience strengthening and delivering on a Compensation agenda to drive positive change in a high-performance setting

Experience demonstrating business and financial acumen

Demonstrated experience in measuring and evaluating effectiveness of compensation initiatives

Experience of quickly building relationships, gaining credibility, influencing and partnering with business leaders and human capital peers across the organization

Experience demonstrating successful change management skills

Deep understanding of and practical experience in applied compensation principles, methods and tools including functional and technical expertise in the following areas: market analysis, compensation program design, development, and implementation, variable pay (including sales), salary planning/forecasting, acquisitions, and alternative reward design techniques

Proven leadership consulting skills from assessment through implementation

Preferred Qualifications:

Professional certifications, such as CCP

10+ years of compensation experience

Experience working on Mergers and Acquisitions

Experience working in a human resources or business function with a strategic business partner and clinical focus

Demonstrated management and project management experience

Residents Only: The salary range for this role is $122,100 to $234,700 annually. Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to local labor markets, education, work experience, certifications, etc. UnitedHealth Group complies with all minimum wage laws as applicable.
