Our work depends on an AWS Senior Cloud Architect joining our team to assist with deploying and services/resources, making architecture recommendations for increased efficiencies, and to work directly with development teams. This team is responsible for ensuring success of infrastructure and operations needs for agency.HOW AN AWS SENIOR CLOUD ARCHITECT WILL MAKE AN IMPACT:

Deploy, configure, and manage Cloud services. Cloud focus currently is AWS but could include work within Google & Azure Cloud Platforms.

Assist the staff with following best practices for Cloud, maximizing efficiency of cloud resources, and general knowledge sharing of cloud expertise with the Cloud Staff

Assist with Operationalizing deployments and support of Cloud services for Operations. This will include standardizing and automating processes and workflows, creating documentation/knowledge articles, and overall assist Operations staff who have limited experience in Cloud.

WHAT YOU’LL NEED TO SUCCEED:

Strong skills and experience in regard to Cloud Operations support in the AWS platform.

Experience with cloud operations in Azure and Google Cloud Platforms

Strong Experience supporting large scale/enterprise level Cloud environments

Strong Experience supporting several cloud services related to compute, network, databases, etc.

Experience of automation/orchestration using any of the following:

Ansible Tower, Terraform, YAML, Jenkins, or equivalent.

Fluency in at least one scripting language:

Python, Perl, Ruby or equivalent

Ability to troubleshoot cloud resource problems and perform complex system tests

Develop and maintain accurate documentation for internal procedures and services

Ability to automate solutions to repetitive problems/tasks

Ability to use a wide variety of open-source technologies and cloud services

Integration of Git, in continuous deployment

Experience with DevOps monitoring tools

Knowledge of best practices and IT operations in an always-up, always-available service

Creative thinking skills

Detail-oriented personality

Ability to communicate well to other members of the development team.

DESIRED SKILLES:

Strong understanding of cloud networking at scale

Ability to break down complex networking concepts and present them in a concise way

Shell scripting experience

PowerShell

Kubernetes

CERTIFICATIONS:

AWS Cloud Architect or AWS Solution Architect (REQUIRED)

GCP and Azure cloud certificates and/or experience (preferred, but not required)

EDUCATION :

Bachelor's degree in a Computer Science or related technical discipline (preferred but not required)

WORK EXPERIENCE:

10+ years of experience

LOCATION:

Raleigh, NC / Hybrid - candidate expected to come into the office 2 days/week, 3 days remote

SECURITY CLEARANCE LEVEL :

Ability to obtain and maintain a Public Trust clearance

The security clearance for this program requires the selected candidate to be a U.S. Citizen and to have resided in the US for the past five years. The selected candidate cannot have left the country for longer than 90 consecutive days and no more than 180 cumulative days.
