The Mechanic/Marine Technician’s responsibility is to perform the duties below on a regular basis and meet customer satisfaction standards as well as company sales and safety requirements.
Duties & Responsibilities:
Troubleshoot and repair marinized engines
Repair propulsion components such as gear cases, stern drives, etc.
Diagnose and repair carbureted and fuel injected intake systems
Perform winterization and summarization of engines and boat systems
Solid understanding of 12V and battery bank systems
Operate diagnostic software
Installations such as new engines, pumps and others as assigned
Perform mechanical repairs on boat equipment including water systems, waste systems, steering systems, engine controls, etc.
Demonstrate good judgment and problem-solving skills and abilities
Perform other duties as assigned or apparent
Minimum Qualifications and Requirements:
Act with the highest level of integrity and maintain a positive attitude
High school diploma required
3-6 years of experience in the performance of mechanical repair and installation
OEM certifications preferred, but not required
Ability to speak and read English and understand electrical wiring diagrams
Ability to use test instruments
Ability to use specialty tools as designated by OEM’s
Must provide tools and test equipment
Specialty tools and diagnostics provided
Electrical troubleshooting experience
Must be able to meet the physical requirements of the job
Strong work ethic and personal commitment
Ability to work in a team environment to achieve team, department, and company goals
Ability to be a self-starter and work independently
Willingness to work on a variety of internal combustion engines (diesel, inboard, outboard, etc.)
Diesel-only experience is welcome!
Must have strong organizational skills and the ability to prioritize work
