Job Summary: This position is a top supervisory role for construction sites. With industry experience, you are responsible for directing, supervising, and troubleshooting routine issues on a jobsite. Ensure safety rules are followed and develop work schedules staffed based on employee availability.

Primary Duties:

Primary essential functions and responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

Coordinate daily tasks according to priorities and plans, making changes when necessary due to weather, supply, delivery, and personnel.

Manage and mentor employees, discipline and offboard employees, and coordinate subcontractors.

Manage 2-3 jobs at the same time.

Ability to work on interior and exterior construction projects (i.e., bathroom remodels, kitchen remodels, trim, windows, siding, etc.).

Provide adequate resources and staffing to meet project schedules, laws, regulations, best practices, and safety needs.

Emphasizing safe use of tools, machines, and equipment.

Manage project budgets and quality standards for all sites.

Regular reporting project status to ownership.

Resolving conflicts and miscommunication quickly and amicably.

Provide daily job updates.

Project photo documentation. Progress photos, pre-project/post-project, major milestones, etc.

Production Management:

Job brief preparation is completed on all jobs prior to starting.

Review job paperwork on all jobs to ensure forms are ready.

Brief crew on jobs and daily schedule.

Assign crew personnel to specific tasks and responsibilities.

Jobsite management.

Establish and maintain effective relations with customers.

Introduce crew members and walk through the jobsite with the customer.

Perform security checks including discussing securing home and entering home with customer.

Ensure personnel wear appropriate safety equipment.

Ensure personnel do appropriate room preparation before beginning production.

Establish a workflow to ensure the customer’s needs are met.

Keep work areas clean and organized.

Perform daily clean-up.

Update job notes daily.

Take all required photos of the jobsite.

Document all changes to the scope of work.

Communicate progress, problems, and changes.

Perform a walk-through with the customer when the job is completed.

Collect payment if instructed and turn in payment to the office.

Complete jobsite breakdown and clean-up.

Clean equipment and load van.

Communication:

Remain up to date on all job progress. Coordinate with other staff as necessary.

Resolve customer complaints in a timely and professional manner.

Communicate expectations, requirements, and changes with production personnel.

Ensure personnel understand the rules for behavior and performance on the job.

Train personnel as necessary in both professional and production skills.

Listen, review, and resolve conflicts between employees as necessary.

Maintenance:

Company vehicles are cleaned and maintained.

Equipment is cleaned and maintained.

Other Key Responsibilities:

Keep expenditures to a minimum at all times.

Expenses should be for necessary items only.

Complete honesty is required. There is no reason to be dishonest in any situation. Deliberate lying will not be tolerated and is grounds for immediate termination.

Proper attire, proper representation of the company, and proper etiquette while representing the company are vital.

Report any communication about the company, positive or negative, to your supervisor on a timely basis so they can respond as needed.

Physical Demands:

This position requires intermittent physical activity including bending, walking, standing, kneeling, stooping, crouching, and lifting. Must have full range of motion.

General Notes:

The Foreman must demonstrate a willingness to work as a team, be organized, and exemplify good leadership skills, with strong oral and written communication skills. For the Foreman role, a typical work week consists of 45 hours.

Qualifications:

Minimum:

3 years of construction and leadership experience

Customer service skills to communicate and develop positive working relationships

Generate business opportunities

Technical skills for interpreting construction methods and technologies along with project drawings

Time management skills to meet deadlines and ensure construction is completed on time

Ability to manage two jobs at the same time with a crew size of up to five members

Valid driver’s license

Preferred:

Experience working in the construction industry

5-7 years of full-time experience

Additional:

Ability to work independently

Excellent communication, listening, and writing skills

Proficient in general computer usage

$62,400-83,200 a year ($30-40 an hour)
