Dingwell’s North America is currently taking applications for a Manufacturing Estimator for our Superior, WI manufacturing facility. Qualified candidate must have the ability to prepare cost estimates by analyzing proposals and requirements for both our machining and fabrication sides of the business as well as purchase materials required for the facility. If you have hands-on experience with estimating and purchasing are familiar with machining and fabrication, we would like to meet with you.
Responsibilities:
Work with sales and management teams to prepare estimates and bids for customers.
Maintain and update various active data bases.
Prepares work to be estimated by gathering proposals, blueprints, specifications, and related documents.
Conduct research to obtain data on labor costs, materials, production times etc.
Read blueprints and technical documents in order to prepare estimates.
Create basic drawings and designs with computer-aided design (CAD) software.
Obtain and review offers and quotes by subcontractors or vendors.
Build relationships with vendors, subcontractors, suppliers and customers.
Develop manufacturing procedures for the parts or projects being quoted.
Submit and review estimate documents or bids with appropriate team members.
Provide service and sales on direct to customer items as required.
Review jobs received with team members to assure smooth and proper transfer of quoted information.
Purchase materials for jobs as required.
Researching and comparing suppliers, goods, and services.
Selecting the most suitable suppliers in terms of reliability, product quality, and cost-efficiency.
Monitoring inventory levels and determining purchase needs.
Requesting cost proposals and negotiating contracts and prices.
Preparing and processing purchase orders.
Maintaining records of all transactions, purchase orders, receipts, and payments.
Scheduling and verifying purchase deliveries.
Building and maintaining positive, long-term supplier relations
Required Skills:
Proven work experience as a Manufacturing Estimator / Purchasing Agent or similar field.
Experience in Purchasing for a manufacturing company or similar field.
Proficient with Microsoft Office products.
Excellent organizational skills, with the ability to prioritize and work in a time sensitive environment, paying attention to quality and detail of the work.
Good math skills.
Creativity and analytical skills.
Technical writing skills.
Strong communication skills, both oral and written.
The ability to work independently and in a team environment as a leader.
Knowledge of CAD software systems
Knowledge of ERP systems
Preferred Skills:
Previous experience with Shoptech E2 Shop system
