PCA / CFSS for 18 Year Old Autistic Male 10-20 Hours/Week - $20/Hour
We are looking for a person with (or willing to obtain) a PCA/CFSS certification to keep up with and do activities with a physically active 18 year old male with Level III autism. This position pays $20/hour. The right candidate will be chosen by client's parents and employed by Lifeworks Services.
Responsibilities:
- Provide primary caregiver relief to client's parents by providing direct care, support, and companionship to 18 Year Old Physically Active Client within client's home and in the vicinity of client's home in Cloquet, MN.
- Accompany client and provide supervision during limited community outings to local stores, businesses, parks, recreation facilities (candidate is not required to provide client with transportation.)
- May occasionally include assisting client with daily living activities such as meal preparation, bathing, dressing, grooming, light cleaning.
- Client enjoys long walks (up to 2 miles round trip) to local stores.
- Ability to use the Electronic Verification App to log hours and services
Requirements
- Ability to work 1 - 2 evenings per week between 3PM & 8PM; days are negotiable, weekends are not necessarily required.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work independently
- Ability to pass a MN Dept of Human Services background check
- Ability to complete PCA/CFSS Certification Online through MN Department of Human Services
- An open mind and a caring demeanor
- Must be able to stand, walk up to 2 miles, bend, occasionally jog, and exert up to 50 pounds of force to move/lift objects.
- Must be comfortable around dogs.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Some experience working with individuals with disabilities or vulnerable adults preferred, but not required. Male candidates are strongly encourage to apply.
Expected hours: 5 - 10 hours per week to start, up to 20 hours per week for the right candidate.
