Alto Pino, a new restaurant in Duluth, MN, is seeking a passionate and experienced Line Cook to join our team. Our menu blends the diverse culinary traditions of the Mediterranean with ingredients from the Lake Superior region and Midwest, offering a unique take on thoughtful, seasonal cuisine.
Key Responsibilities:
Assist in food preparation, cooking, and plating of dishes.
Maintain a clean, organized workspace, adhering to prep, opening and closing checklists and ServeSafe kitchen safety protocols.
Effectively communicate with the prep and line teams to ensure consistency and quality in all dishes.
Act with a high level of professionalism in support of a small restaurant with an open kitchen.
Required experience, skills and abilities:
At least 1 year cooking on the line at a full-service restaurant
Ability to work cleanly and efficiently, minimizing waste (time and ingredients)
Ability to consistently deliver high-quality dishes in a timely manner
Willingness to own your station, including checking/prepping mise en place, opening/closing checklists, keeping a neat and tidy station during service, tasting/checking dishes for quality etc.
A passion for learning, growth, and development in the culinary field.
Ability to work evenings (we are closed Mondays and Tuesdays)
Preferred (but not required):
Experience with Mediterranean cuisine
Background in higher-end or upscale restaurant service
Experience in menu development, ordering, or inventory management
ServeSafe certification
Compensation: Pay based on experience. Potential for additional hours if willing to work prep.
