DescriptionJob SummaryThe Aerospace Welder is responsible for the production of quality aircraft component weldments. They must be capable of fitting and welding complex assemblies consisting of 4130 machined components, tubing and fittings and must be able to do so holding tight tolerances. Attention to detail required. Specialists will be expected to read and interpret engineering documents (drawings, schematics, and specifications for examples) to accomplish these activities. Familiarity with common fabrication methods in metals is expected and they will be required to use hand tools and to operate common powered, shop tools. Problem-solving and communication skills are highly valued as are communication skills and team members will need to work effectively in groups and with other departments across the organization.$2K Sign-on eligible until further notice. Shift: This is a weekend shift position - Fri-Sun; 5:00 AM - 5:30 PM; 12% shift differential; Overtime as requiredDuties and Responsibilities/Essential Functions
Ability to weld 4130 materials using TIG process
Joins, fabricates, and repairs metal and other weldable material by applying appropriate welding techniques
Interprets blueprints, specifications, diagrams or schematics to determine appropriate welding process
Inspects completed welds to determine structural soundness
Familiar with and complies with all safety requirements and protocols for working in a hazardous environment
May prepare the materials and set up on a welding fixture or for a coworker
Will be required to complete on-the-job training

High school diploma or equivalent
Successful completion two year, vocational welding program (preferred) or two years equivalent experience
Must be able to pass required weld certification per AWS 1
Must be able to pass an AWS eye exam
Ability to work scheduled shift and hours, including overtime
Ability to work with minimal supervision
Use of hand and power tools as required
Follow all safety procedures
Ability to demonstrate sound judgement and effective communication skills (written and verbal)
Ability to effectively manage stress, including competing work demands and multiple projects at the same time
Strong attention to detail
