Qualified applicants will enjoy interacting with the public and be available for early morning shifts, including weekends. Applicants must also be able to lift 30-50# regularly. Previous grocery, purchasing and/or inventory experience is strongly preferred.Ordering, Stocking and Backroom
Work with Center Store Manager to achieve sales and margin goals for department.
Review departmental financial reports (sales, labor, margin, turns) with Center Store Manager and take corrective action as needed.
Train new stockers and buyers using appropriate training modules and checklists
Ensure that items unable to sell are returned or otherwise properly disposed of following established procedures
Keep accurate shrinkage records
Visit other stores for price comparisons, product and merchandising ideas
Place orders as directed to ensure regular supply, and adequate supply for specials
Receive orders not handled by Receiver, according to the established procedures
Ensure accurate, up-to-date shelf tags, PLU's, sale signs and scanned prices for department items
Plan and maintain attractive, fully stocked, rotated and faced sections
Stock displays full without overcrowding and rotate overstock into backstock
Label items accurately with price tags or signs, remove damaged items and notify Grocery Manager
Check in items using the invoice to verify piece count or damage and notify receiving of discrepancies
Product Replenishment
Participate in inventories and place orders with assigned vendors
Manage ordering to keep products in stock while maintaining budget
Provide complete information for new products on Purchase Orders for Information Management Systems (IMS) to set up in Automated Receiving Systems (ARS)
Business Operations, Safety and Compliance
Alert Management of potential theft or other emergencies
Conduct price comparisons and review internal reports as directed
Keep department areas - shelves, counters, aisles, backstock in clean, orderly condition
Remove trash promptly, clean up spills, sweep floor as needed
Keep department equipment in working order and advise Grocery Manager of equipment problems
Attend dept staff meetings and other assigned training requirements and participate in inventory counts
Identifies self as employee by being in co-op attire and nametag, see dress code.
Perform any other duty as assigned by Management Team
RequirementsMandatory Qualifications:

English proficiency with previous customer service experience

Preferred Qualifications:
Previous purchasing experience in retail natural foods or products
Proficiency in MS Office and POS systems.
Strong critical thinking and problem solving skills.
Strong aptitude to read financials and adapt to technology.
Previous experience in retail, grocery/co-ops, natural foods or related industry.
Physical Demands:
Ability to lift/push/pull/carry up to 30 pounds frequently; 30-50+ pounds occasionally
Manual dexterity with ability to reach, grasp and utilize hands, wrists, and fingers for extended periods of time
Close-to-general range visual acuity to evaluate and interact in working environment and focus on and/or read data and words on a computer monitor for extended periods of time
Ability to sit, stand and walk for extended periods of time
Regular exposure to working in refrigerated and frozen environments
Ability to climb ladders, kneel, crouch, and bend occasionally required
