General Overview: Maintain a safe and sanitary work environment, perform production tasks, and be incorporated
into safety programs (food and workplace).
Maintaining a sanitary work environment may include:
Daily Housekeeping
A broad array of tasks to maintain the sanitary integrity of the facility.
Deep Cleans
An intense cleaning practices of a defined sector of the facility
Production tasks may include:
Milling of Product
Which can include operation of equipment
Warehousing
Storage of goods
Outgoing/Incoming shipments
Blending
The mixing of different product grades
Operation of final cleaning equipment
Packaging
Preparing product for predetermined pack
All Categories of tasks require Agility and at times “Very Heavy Work”
Tasks generally have procedures to follow (SOPs) and documentation to maintain and/or complete.
Processing season occurs during the fall months (varies per year). Requires all personnel to be available to work 7
days a week and follow different work schedules.
Perishable green wild rice requires
Immediate handling, curing, and parching (dehydrating of the product)
Proper cooling and storage of finished product
General Laborers may be required to have more responsibility during this time of the year.
