Big Axe Brewing in Nisswa, MN is looking for an exceptional Head Brewer/Lead Brewer experienced with brewery operations including brewing, cellaring, packaging and qa. Experience in a Brewpub or a brewery with restaurant and/or bar is also a big plus. The Head Brewer is responsible for training, scheduling and utilizing staff for operation of the brewery. This is a very dynamic role and requires someone who is organized, disciplined and detail oriented with a passion for doing things right. As a leader, you will have a hand in all brewing operations and a direct impact to the growth and direction of the company and your own success. In addition to managing the brewery schedule and production, you will help set up a sour program, a QA Lab and improve and advance our existing barrel program, and install a stability testing and sensory analysis program as well. Requirements:

Able to safely lift 160 lbs

Able to stand for long periods of time

Homebrewing experience required, commercial experience preferred

Able to follow oral and written instructions.

Able to lift, bend, and move repetitively.

Commitment to quality and doing things right every time

Detail and process oriented a must

Commercial Brewing Experience

Responsibilities:

Independently produce wort on two-vessel brewhouse - responsible for all steps from grain infusion to yeast pitching.

Plan and manage inventory and production brewing schedule

Design and improve existing recipes and processes

manage and develop qa/sensory training program

manage and train assistant brewers

Independently clean, sanitize and operate all equipment.

Ensure that all products meet required quality control points through proper technique and measurement.

Transfer, carbonate and keg beer as needed

Operate canning machine
