Estelle is an upscale-casual, neighborhood restaurant located in St. Paul, MN. We offer a comfortable, inviting setting and pride ourselves on exceptional guest experiences. Our menu is influenced primarily by the cuisines of Spain, Portugal and Italy.

The role of the Assistant General Manger is to oversee and monitor the day-to-day operations of the business and to expand sales and cash flow. The AGM works in consultation with ownership and General Manager but is expected to take the initiative to grow the business and will operate with a high degree of independence to meet budget and operating goals.

The AGM is partially responsible for everything required for the smooth operation of the business. However, the primary focus should be on dining room and bar operations. This list of key responsibilities outlines the most direct responsibilities of the AGM:

- Managing the guest experience

- Ensuring bar and dining service is performed to exceed guest expectations

- Hiring, training, and onboarding new staff

- Ensuring new staff are properly onboarded with appropriate paperwork

- Documenting and maintaining procedures and protocols

- Maintaining Food, Wine & Beer documentation

- Creating and implementing programs and events to enhance staff knowledge

- Coaching of existing staff to improve beverage program literacy

- Overseeing and guiding staff on areas of improvement

- Disciplining staff and retraining as necessary

- Building relationships with vendors

- Assisting with Bar menu creation and development

- Meeting profit, service, and quality goals

- Coordinating with General Manager for FOH scheduling

- Ensuring and maintaining cleanliness throughout the restaurant

- Performing routine maintenance on equipment to ensure clean and safe operation

- Working Services as the floor manager

- Coordinating all FOH staff and setting up for a successful service

- Ensuring daily cleaning, maintenance and side-work is executed properly

- Managing reservations and guest interactions to ensure smooth service

- Ensuring guests have a positive, memorable experience

- Handling any guest concerns and staff issues with speed and decisiveness

- Managing nightly financials and completing requisite documentation

- Anything else required for the smooth operation of the business

- Maintaining positive attitude and staff morale

The Assistant General Manager role is a full-time position. We expect you to work a 5 day work week, with at least 4 of those days being actively involved in service, and an additional day to handle administrative and maintenance-related tasks. You will work closely with our General Manager to ensure a seamless execution of service each day, and set the restaurant up for continued success. We expect this role to require 45 hours per week. You will be paid a base salary, and an additional commission based on restaurant sales.
