Maxar is seeking a cleared Software Engineer in Ypsilanti, MI. We are a leader in the field of signal and image processing. This is an opportunity to work on an integrated team to build innovative software using mathematical solutions to support users in the defense and intelligence communities. Work as part of a team in a lead role designing, implementing, testing, and delivering algorithms for Synthetic Aperture Radar (SAR) and related radar modes.What will you be doing?- Taking algorithm definitions and prototypes and convert them into robust software applications that run efficiently on large images and are ready for operational environments.
- Collaborating with customers, users, and Maxar radar and research scientist experts to solve issues, improve image product quality and evolve capabilities to support new mission scenarios. Build and improve on automated test and verification software and tools.
- Establishing and driving development standards and processes that lead to high quality, extensible and maintainable software.
- Application domain includes detection, deep learning, Automatic Target Recognition (ATR), electronic warfare (EW) and adaptive array processing.
- US citizenship with current Top Secret clearance.
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Physics, Applied Mathematics or related technology fields.
- 8 years of relevant experience.
- Strong programming skills in an Object Oriented programming language (e.g. C, Java, Python).
- Current TS/SCI clearance.
- Master's degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Physics, Applied Mathematics or related technology fields with 5 yrs of relevant experience
- C, MATLAB, Python
- Prior experience in a software lead position, managing software teams, or evolving software solutions
- Math and/or Physics coursework or experience
