Unit Description: Henry Ford Wyandotte Hospital peri-operative department in collaboration with a diverse staff of Surgeons, Anesthesiologists, Physicians, Nurses and Ancillary Staff work hard to provide outstanding professional care to a wide variety of patients. We strive to keep our patients comfortable and worry free in our pre-op area while being continuously assessed and monitored while being prepped for their procedure. The post op recovery area is where patients will be closely monitored while recovering from local, regional and general anesthesia. There are 19 bays in the Pre-Op unit, and 22 bays in Post-Op recovery. HFWH currently serves the surrounding community and is growing and expanding. We always welcome new surgeons with new innovative ideas to increase our knowledge base. We offer a full orientation based on learning needs and experience. GENERAL SUMMARY:Provides leadership in the coordination and delivery of quality compassionate patient care. Utilizes the nursing process of assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation, to provide, delegate, supervise and document care and teaching of patients and family. Effectively communicates pertinent patient/family information to health care team. Participates in finding solutions for variances from patient goals and ensures implementation of solutions. EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:

Graduation from an accredited school of nursing.

Current licensure by the Michigan State Board of Nursing.
