Our experts co-create products with customers to bring innovations to major industry sectors such as transportation, consumer goods, industrial applications, and construction.These solutions contribute to a sustainable future by pushing the boundaries in thermal resistance, robustness and lightweight applications.As an Instrument/Control Technician I for our Wyandotte Cellasto Plant, you will be responsible for the repair and maintenance of the Instrument and Electrical equipment encompassing the plant switch-gear installations, electrical and pneumatic system, Servo motors and frequency drives, PLC controllers and AC / DC drive controls and Robotics.You will build a meaningful career while supporting BASF Performance Materials business unit, that is active in four major industry sectors – transportation, consumer goods, industrial applications, and construction. The division has a strong portfolio of products and services combined with a deep understanding of application-oriented system solutions.During your straight day shift as a Instrument Technician I, you will

Interpret electrical schematics, blueprints, and computer logic to troubleshoot production problems and solve them

Perform process control, sensing and monitoring system calibrations and record keeping

Work with other team members, engineers and production personnel to complete job tasks, breakdowns, or machine redesigns to improve/resolve production needs

Support, maintain and improve the plant MPI programs to maintain equipment reliability

Requisition replacement parts from plant inventory as well as obtaining outside sources to replace, upgrade or implement new equipment designs

If you

Have a High School Diploma or GED

Possess a minimum of 2 years of experience in chemical plant instrumentation maintenance / construction – OR – completion / near completion in the BASF Maintenance Scholarship Program

Have the ability to learn SAP, and are experienced with MS Office.
