Be Remarkable!As a Medical Assistant (MA), you will work in a collaborative environment to deliver excellent patient care under the direction of a licensed clinical professional in a clinic or practice environment. A Medical Assistant - is expected to facilitate all aspects of the patient visit experience.POSITION QUALIFICATIONS1 Completion of an accredited medical assistant program with the subsequent certification by the American Association of Medical Assistants or the equivalent combination of education and employment experience.2 BLS certification within first three months of employment.3 Minimum of three years experience directly related to clinical work in a physician office.4 Well developed communication skills, both written and verbal. Able to communicate effectively with individuals and groups representing diverse perspectives.5 Basic typing and filing skills required. Familiarity with computers and word processing programs. Able to complete data entry and retrieve patient information from an electronic patient file.6 Articulates and demonstrates commitment to the philosophy, values, mission and vision of Mercy General Health Partners.PHYSICAL AND MENTAL REQUIREMENTS AND WORKING CONDITIONS1 Frequent amount of physical activity including reading, sitting, standing and walking.2 Occasionally required to lift, carry and/or push/pull up to twenty 10 pounds.3 Perform detailed tasks very frequently, subject to interruptions, and changing work priorities.4 Working in a patient care environment may result in exposure to communicable diseases and hazardous substances.Supporting the medical assistant team in family medicine and urgent care. Current family medicine hours are Mon-Fri 7:30a-5p. Current urgent care hours are Mon-Fri 8a-8p and Sat 8a-2p. There could be some nights and weekends involved.
