Aerotek is hiring a qualified Shop Supervisor for a company that is globally recognized throughout various industries as the most knowledgeable, reliable, and responsive company offering comprehensive maintenance services for variable speed fluid drives, torque convertors used as gas turbine starters and fix fill hydraulic couplings.Location: Westland, MIPay: $90K-$120K/annual salary (based on experience)Shift: 1st Shift 1st Shift: 6am-2:30pm (4:30pm when working OT) (Currently working 5 10's, working Sat & Sun averaging 58/hrs/week) Monday to Friday Overtime Weekend availabilityType of Hire: Contract-to-Hire or Direct PlacementJob Description: Responsible for managing the entire repair processes and personnel for industrial machinery, especially hydraulic couplings and torque converters. Responsible for work quality, timeliness and budget.Primary Responsibilities: Leads a team of mechanics and technicians to complete work orders on time according to schedule and with all customer deliverables satisfied. Direct outside service coordinator for matters relating to purchasing, sourcing, identifying 3rd party vendors and more.o On-time deliverieso Cost stabilityo Maintain qualityo Minimize rejections Manages, prepares, and monitors field service activities. Participate in customer technical support. Performs supervisory functions of all shop personnel.o Provides training and coaching for employees in work-related activities and performance.o Maintain and improve labor utilization standards. Certify that work has been completed according to established repair processes, industry best-practices and engineering recommendations.o Ensure minimal or zero warranty claims. Implement strategic initiatives based upon leadership direction. Meet quality control objectives and coordinate activities to resolve repair problems, maximize product reliability and minimize cost. Participate in weekly production meetings that track work order progress. Achieve metrics relative to Safety, Quality, Equipment, Productivity, Cost.o Ensure OSHA compliance. Evaluate, review, modify and develop procedures to safely, efficiently & correctly complete and document the repair process for all brands of hydraulic couplings and torque converters. Update, improve and/or develop disassembly and reassembly instruction manuals. Same procedures to be performed uniformly by all mechanics. Specialized tools or fixtures Standardize and simplify the process for summary dispositions and communicate it to the departments concerned.o Participate in inspection documentation & procedure development.o Standardize processes to interpret and evaluate inspection data for all mechanics and technicians. Improve the shop floor organization, utilization, and layout. Organize shop equipment and tools. Participate in reverse engineering and developing engineering standards and product improvements.Both contract to hire and direct placement availableAdditional Skills & Qualifications:Secondary Duties (not to dilute primary responsibilities) Evaluate and develop “turnkey” offerings for on-site repairs. Occasionally travel to trade shows, conferences and customer sitesEXPERIENCE10 years of experience in an industrial environment preferred5+ years of experience in a leadership roleCOMPUTER SKILLSProficient in all Microsoft Office products, CAD experience a plusREASONING DEMANDSAbility to define problems collect data, establish facts, draw valid conclusions and resolve discrepancies. Report conclusions to general manager.
