Job SummaryResponsible for coordinating anesthesia supplies across multiple settings and assisting the anesthesiologist with technical procedures related to anesthesia administration. Essential Functions
Assists the anesthesiologist in the insertion of intravenous lines (IVs), and the placement of epidural catheters, and monitoring devices (Swan-Ganz, transesophageal echocardiogram (TEE), arterial lines, etc.) related to the administration of anesthetic agents. Assists in patient care such as positioning and assisting with airway maneuvers. Performs point of care testing as required.
Coordinates supplies for procedures across multiple sites. Stocks anesthesia carts and anesthesia storage room. Obtains emergency supplies during procedures, as directed.
Supports equipment/supply trial by assisting vendors and evaluation collection.
Provides input into the long term plan for capital equipment purchases / budget as it relates to anesthesia.
Cleans equipment, work areas and reusable supplies and returns unneeded equipment to appropriate department.
Collects and presents data for analysis of cost/quality comparisons for anesthesia medications, equipment and supplies.
Assists in providing ongoing maintenance for anesthesia machines and other related equipment, including trouble shooting, removal and replacement of parts. Works with clinical engineering and technical support, acting as the first line of repair.
Qualifications
Required High School Diploma or equivalent
Preferred Associate's Degree
2 years of relevant experience patient care Preferred
1 year of relevant experience operating room Preferred
CRT-Basic Life Support (BLS) - AHA American Heart Association 90 Days required Or
CRT-Basic Life Support (BLS) - ARC American Red Cross 90 Days required
CRT-Anesthesia Technician, Certified (Cer. A.T.) - UNKNOWN Unknown Upon Hire preferred
