Geotechnical EngineerLocation: Troy, MIPosition Overview: We are seeking a Geotechnical Engineer to support various projects in the surrounding area. The primary projects include paving, infrastructure, industrial, residential, and commercial developments.Key Responsibilities:

Conduct site investigations, data collection, and analysis to provide sound engineering recommendations.

Coordinate projects, manage data, prepare proposals, consult with clients, and write reports.

Spend 60 to 80% of time in-office, with the remainder in the field.

Direct and execute geotechnical project assignments, including field exploration, engineering analysis, report preparation, and laboratory services.

Develop and maintain client relationships.

Perform field and laboratory testing, data collection, and interpretation.

Coordinate and manage projects, overseeing junior engineers and technicians in the field.

Maximize profitability by ensuring appropriate budgeting, pricing, and utilization of resources and cost controls.

Requirements:

Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering preferably with a geotechnical emphasis.

Experience in geotechnical engineering.

Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Proven project management skills.

Willingness to work flexible hours/shifts as needed to support project/client needs.

Strong interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills.

Proficient in computer skills, including spreadsheet development and report generation.

Preferred Qualifications:

Successful completion of the FE exam with plans to obtain a PE license.

Experience with paving and structure projects.
