This role is for you if:
The ideal candidate would be HONEST, energetic, able to work independently, and highly motivated.
You have prior experience working on a commercial farm operating farm equipment.
Previously worked as a commercial applicator for a retailer or a heavy equipment operator for a construction company.
Have basic mechanical knowledge and ability to understand machine function and perform routine maintenance task.
Daily Task:
Operate farm machinery: perform tillage operations, operate grain/sugar beet cart.
Opportunities to operate late model planting and harvesting equipment exist with demonstrated abilities.
Operate self-propelled sprayer during the summer months and keep accurate spray records.
Drive semi-truck to transport commodities. Ability to drive A-Train Doubles (165,000 lb gross).
Perform basic equipment maintenance. Previous experience with an acetylene torch and or welder is helpful. Approximately 30% of your time will be around shop assisting shop foreman.
Work approximately 2500 hours per year. 40% of year 40 hrs per week, 40% of year 45-55 hours per week, and 20% of year will be 65-80 hours per week.
Qualifications:
High School Diploma. Technical Associates Degree Preferred.
Ability to pass a drug test
Have a valid Commercial Drivers License or ability to obtain one in first 6 months.
Ability to obtain a Restricted Use Pesticide License.
