This role handles essential tasks, such as financial statement preparation and consolidation, account analysis and reconciliations, cash flow analysis, budgets and forecasting, audit preparation, and internal control maintenance and regulatory reporting. The role requires superb analytical skills, and the work environment is challenging and fast-paced. Located in Southfield, Michigan, this Senior Accountant role is with a company in the Automotive field. Employees receive solid compensation and benefits. You will also have the chance for growth.Major responsibilities
Strong interest in continuously improving the automation of the accounting and reporting process
Provide analysis on financial results (trends, performance metrics, benchmarks)
Administer Ad-hoc projects as necessary
Prepare Balance Sheet account reconciliations
Aid in coordinating quarterly reviews and testing with internal and external auditors
Participate in various department-wide initiatives
Execute monthly accounting close procedures and deliverables (journal entries, reconciliations, reports) in compliance with GAAP
Produce monthly consolidated P& L and Balance Sheet flux analysis for management purposes
Successfully collaborate with business partners to ensure compliance with corporate accounting policies, procedures, controls and provide support on special requests when necessary

Strong organizational skills and a proven ability to meet deadlines
Skill with corporate performance management (CPM) and business intelligence systems required
SEC reporting and SOX compliance is a plus
5+ years of overall general accounting experience, ideally with Big 4 experience
Previous experience in public accounting is highly valued
Ability to work in a dynamic and changing environment
Attentive, ability to work independently and prioritize tasks
Self-starter, ability to identify issues and resolve problems
Ability to communicate verbally and in writing effectively throughout all levels of the company
Exceptional analytical, quantitative and social skills
Proficiency in journal entries
Month-end Close Activities experience
General ledger experience
Balance Sheet Account Reconciliation experience
BA/BS in Accounting, CPA credentials are preferred
Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines
