Join us for a rewarding career in the aviation industry!Job DescriptionOur Welder/Fabricator is responsible for performing welding and fabrication tasks on airport ground support equipment and related structures. This role involves reading and interpreting technical drawings and blueprints to fabricate components and assemblies. You will use various welding techniques, including MIG, TIG, and stick welding, to join metal parts and perform repairs on ground support equipment. Also, this position requires cutting and shaping equipment, such as plasma cutters and grinders, to prepare materials for welding and fabrication. You will play a crucial role in maintaining and ensuring the safety and functionality of airport ground support equipment.WHAT IT’S LIKE TO WORK AS A WELDER FABRICATOR· You like working as a team, toward a common goal· Perform welding and fabrication tasks: Execute various welding techniques for repair and construction projects within the airport· Read and interpret blueprints and drawings: Understand technical documents to accurately fabricate and assemble structures· Maintain and repair airport equipment and structures: Work on a wide range of airport assets, including vehicles, machinery, and infrastructure· Use a variety of welding equipment: Operate TIG, MIG, and other welding apparatus proficiently· Adhere to safety and quality standards: Ensure all welding activities meet safety regulations and quality specifications· You have very strong customer service skills· You have a great attention to detail· You enjoy working with a team or individually to accomplish your tasks· Strong customer service skills· Like to build long term relationships with your customers· Physical activity may include:· Stand and walk for extended periods of time· Ability to lift 70 pounds or more· Be able to hear and respond to the spoken voice and to audible alarms generated by terminal environment· Close vision (clear vision at 20 inches or less); Distance Vision (clear vision at 20 feet or more); Color Vision (ability to identify and distinguish colors); Peripheral Vision (ability to observe an area that can be seen up and down or to the left and right while eyes are fixed on a given point); Depth Perception (three-dimensional vision, ability to judge distances and spatial relationships); Ability to Adjust Focus (ability to adjust the eye to bring an object into sharp focus)Qualifications· Minimum age of 18 years old· Ability to read, write, speak, and understand the English language, to include documents· Completion of a recognized welding and fabrication program or apprenticeship· Welding certification (e.g., AWS, ASME)· Minimum of 2 years of welding and fabrication experience· Proficiency in reading technical drawings and blueprints· Knowledge of various welding techniques and equipment· Attention to detail and commitment to safety· Comfortable working with computers, mobile devices, and tablets· Ability to pass a drug screen· Eligibility to acquire needed credentials and clearances (FAA, TSA, Port Authority, U.S. Customs and U.S. Postal- as applicable)Airlines are 24/7, so we need our team members to be flexible to work various shifts including nights, weekends and holidays.
