UPPCO seeks highly motivated individuals to join their team inRockland, Michigan asSeasonal Laborers. In this position, the successful candidate will assist various departments in the corporate and district offices, power plants, service center, warehouse, and surrounding locations.COMPENSATION.$18.00 per hour starting wage.SCHEDULE.Seasonal position that begins as soon as possible, generally works Monday-Friday from 7:30am-3:30pm, and runs for a period of 90-180 days. Some overtime is possible.TASKS MAY INCLUDE:
Load, unload, and store material.
Move material via forklift or other material handling equipment.
Send shipments and parcels.
Perform painting, cleaning, and housekeeping duties.
Perform snow removal, yard work, and basic landscaping.
Assist with janitorial tasks such as minor repairs, changing light bulbs, etc.
Provide customer service (answer calls, set appointments, etc.).
Enter data and operate computers.
File documents and perform miscellaneous clerical duties; make and distribute copies.
WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR.
Must have a valid driver's license.
Must be 18 years of age or older and have a high school diploma or equivalent.
Physical ability to perform continuous light active work and heavy work when necessary, and may require lifting up to 75 lbs., standing and/or walking for long periods of time, and working while wearing protective equipment.
Ability to be trained to operate various types of mechanical equipment such as a forklift and lawn trimming equipment.
Excellent time management, organization, and communication
A positive, motivated attitude that takes direction and works well with others.
Individuals willing and able to work inside and outside with exposure to various weather conditions (humid, damp, rainy, snowy, hot, cold, windy, ), and hazards associated with electric/gas facilities, power plants, and operating machinery.
Must reside within 30 minutes of assigned location under normal driving conditions.
