The Senior Accountant will be responsible for performing and leading various General Ledger accounting and reporting activities while delivering quality results timely and with the upmost efficiency, accuracy, and integrity. This position will contribute significantly to establishing and advancing process standards and compliance across the organization. Primary responsibilities will include:

Actively participate and guide month-end closing procedures.

Prepare, post, and/or review standard journal entries, manual accruals, and other adjustments as necessary.

Conduct thorough review of accounts and departmental activity to aid in spend tracking and accrual submissions.

Assist in review and completion of Balance Sheet account reconciliations including but not limited to Cash, Intercompany, AR/AP, Fixed Assets, Inventory, Accruals, Payroll, Pension, and Other.

Contribute to the completion of reporting analytics and risk and opportunity assessments.

Aid in the production of the monthly, quarterly, and annual financial and management reports.

Support international subsidiaries and consolidation accounting as required.

Collaborate with other departments to coach and provide accounting support.

Root cause and propose corrective action plans for variances or issues identified.

Liaison with HR/Benefit teams on all aspects of medical and pension transactions - analysis, tracking, reporting, audit

Maintain a good overview and insight of the Fixed Asset and Inventory procedures.

Drive compliance and accounting and reporting standards throughout the organization .

Support internal and external audits pertaining to J-Sox and Year End.

Experience in Oracle a plus but not required.

Ideal candidate will have the following experience and education:

High School Diploma or GED Required.

Minimum BSBA degree in Accounting or Finance or equivalent relevant experience.

Minimum seven years of experience preferred.

Prior experience balancing accounts and performing reconciliations.

Advanced analytical skills

Aptitude to learn and work with various financial systems and databases.

Excellent written and oral communication skills.

Excellent technical computer skills using Excel and database techniques.

Excellent organizational skills and an ability to manage numerous tasks while meeting deadlines and producing high quality results.

Customer-focused, accustomed to working in a team environment, results oriented, and willing to work occasional extra time when required to meet special deadlines in response to customer requirements.
