Learn more about our award-winning organization by visiting stryker.comThe Senior Compliance Officer is a senior member of the Compliance organization and oversees the Compliance program of the Instruments business with a high level of independence. The Senior Compliance Officer is responsible for developing the Compliance program strategy within their Division to enable business results and effectively manage risk for the company. This role also leads the Compliance Committee, drives alignment to the global Compliance strategy, and influences senior business leadership and other stakeholders in identifying risks and opportunities and implementing appropriate mitigation efforts.As a leader in the Instruments division, the Senior Compliance Officer will support the commercial strategy of the Division and partner with the Senior Leadership Team to effectively manage risk and drive growth. This position is also responsible for ensuring the specific needs of the Instruments businesses are considered in strategic decisions regarding the Compliance Program and adapting global initiatives to meet business needs. This position is responsible for partnering with Senior Leadership within the Instruments businesses, its Senior Leadership team, and their Compliance Committee to maintain compliance with laws, regulations, and standards. The Senior Compliance Officer is also responsible for leading global projects and workstreams and may have additional oversight project teams composed of Compliance Officers for other business units or divisions or business stakeholders. As a people leader, The Senior Compliance Officer is also responsible of leading and developing a team of compliance professionals who support the business units within the division.Primary Responsibilities:

Implement the Ethics and Compliance strategy and goals within their Divisions to empower business leadership and effectively manage risk for the company.

Develop programs which ensure organizational compliance with relevant laws, regulations, and standards across regions.

Ensure effective ethics and compliance controls are in place, including written standards, education and communication, auditing and monitoring, third-party oversight, and corrective action.

Provide strategic input to support continuous improvement of the compliance program and to reflect changes, clarifications, or updates in applicable law, regulations, policy, and business strategy.

Maintain deep knowledge of the businesses and their operations; use knowledge of business and compliance metrics to inform the strategy and goals.

Recommend improvements to increase efficiency, simplicity, and speed of action.

Support the Compliance Leadership Team in reporting on the status of compliance program on a regular basis.

Recruit, lead, and manage a skilled team of compliance professionals.

Maintain knowledge of relevant laws, regulations, and industry standards.

Raise awareness of the compliance program and promote accountability for ethics and integrity.

Foster a continuous improvement mindset and proposes enhancements to the Program informed by industry trends and best practices.

Participate in industry associations and engagements to raise the profile of the Ethics and Compliance program and the company.

Minimum Qualifications:

B.A. or B.S from accredited university required.

Graduate degree and/or professional accreditation preferred.

10-12 years of work experience required; previous compliance leadership required.

Demonstrates substantial knowledge and clear understanding of the required elements of effective ethics and compliance programs and experience with AdvaMed code and other relevant standards.

Possesses excellent communication, leadership, and influencing skills.

Demonstrates high level of professionalism, business acumen, and judgment.

Oversees complex diverse work of significant impact to the organization.

Well-developed understanding of business financials and reporting and ability to effectively allocate resources for maximum impact.

Initiates, embraces, and supports change in a dynamic and complex environment.

Oversees complex work of significant impact to the organization.

Perceived as highly competent with high level of business acumen and good judgment.

Demonstrates excellent ability to exercise discretion and maintain confidentiality.
