Description We are offering a contract to hire employment opportunity for an Accounting Specialist in the Real Estate Property/Facilities Management industry, located in Portage, Michigan. As an Accounting Specialist, you will be responsible for managing critical data entry tasks and providing support in generating and analyzing General Ledger (GL) reports. Responsibilities: Responsible for managing data entry of financial records, ensuring all information is complete and up to date. Assist in generating and analyzing daily, weekly, and monthly GL reconciliations and reports. Review and verify financial documents such as invoices and expense reports. Maintain and organize financial records, spreadsheets, and databases. Assist in year-end financial reporting, including preparing GL summaries and reconciliations. Collaborate with other departments to ensure accurate and timely financial data input. Support the finance team with ad-hoc data analysis and reporting tasks as needed. Ensure the confidentiality of sensitive financial information. Use various software tools including Google Drive, Google Suite, Microsoft Excel, Pivot Table, RealPage, and more to perform tasks and maintain records. Utilize skills in data entry, general ledger, account reconciliation, coding accuracy, and real estate finance for efficient job performance. Requirements Must have a minimum of 3 years of experience in an accounting role, preferably within the real estate property/facilities management industry Proficiency in using Google Drive and Google Suite is essential Strong skills in Microsoft Excel, particularly with pivot tables, are required Must be able to perform data entry tasks with a high degree of accuracy Experience with general ledger and account reconciliation is necessary Demonstrated ability to ensure accuracy in all tasks, including coding Knowledge of real estate finance and real estate property management is desirable Familiarity with RealPage software would be advantageous Should be capable of performing year-end reporting and monthly account reconciliation tasks A degree in accounting, finance, or a related field is preferred Robert Half is the world’s first and largest specialized talent solutions firm that connects highly qualified job seekers to opportunities at great companies.
