Responsibilities: · Accurately monitor and record data as requested for SPC, labor reporting, and inventory control. · Continuously observe machines, fixtures, peripheral equipment, gauging, etc., for obvious defects or malfunctions. · Continuously observe material and parts for obvious defects while handling, which can cause production problems and damage. · Perform tooling offsets of CNC machines · Replace and adjust existing tooling in a tool rest, to maintain production within specifications. · Monitor for visual tooling defects both work-holding and cutting tools and ensure first piece approval · Monitor measured part dimensions, if discrepant utilize “Stop & Fix” procedures to correct. · Machine and control knowledge to operate all pieces of equipment within the department. · Identify areas and make recommendations where changes can be made to improve safety, methods, part quality, machine and tooling performance, and productivity. · Perform housekeeping duties including cleaning machines, fixtures, tooling, gauging, and peripheral equipment, as required to maintain parts and equipment within specified limits. · Develop knowledge of proper handling techniques and use of coolants, monitor and maintain appropriate levels, check refractory levels. · Operate equipment within measured time elements. · Perform de-burring and/or clean parts within measured time elements. · Assist all other employees in the department as needed. · Keep work area neat, clean and organized using the 5S+Safety approach · Submit waste reductions/cost avoidances. · Follow process sheets and work instructions · Cross training on designated equipment for set up and operation · Expected to train fellow Cell Tech II’s and Cell Tech III’s. · Transfer of DNC (Direct Network Connection). · Responsible for first piece approval of production parts. · Perform other duties as responsibilities necessitate. Requirements: Must complete required CNC courses through KVCC - Recognized by the DOL as an Apprentice at the end of the program. High School diploma or equivalent. Knowledge of terminology related to equipment, methods, tooling, gauging, etc., which are typically learned through at least 2-4 year of machining experience. Proficient understanding of blueprint reading Knowledge of basic gauging & measurement techniques Must attend company paid college courses Demonstrated ability to work effectively with others and be a participative team player.
