AECOM is seeking a Sr Traffic Engineer (Remote) to be based in Novi, MI.Position Details:Senior technical resource may serve as technical advisor for teamProvides specialized technical input to studies and design for staff's specific area of expertiseDevelops study and design procedures to facilitate high quality cost effective work by othersParticipates in interdisciplinary review of project deliverablesDevelops construction cost estimates and estimates of technical efforts for projectsUses expertise in all steps of completing discipline component of PS&E package.Performs quality control review of design calculations or drawingsPrepares technical specification sectionsProvides input to the development of engineering budget and schedule to meet requirementsResponsibilitiesThe successful candidate will provide assistance to the project manager, task lead, and technical team and be responsible for the delivery of these services on projectsOur team works with local and national clients to provide solutions to their transportation needs across all modes of travelTypical projects and daily tasks are focused on traffic engineering-related services such as traffic projections, traffic analysis and simulation, traffic impact studies, traffic safety analysis/studies, maintenance of traffic studies, traffic conceptual planning and design, and other transportation-related studiesPerforms — all aspects of traffic engineering studies including data collection, microsimulation model development and calibration (SimTraffic and VISSIM) or other deterministic models such as Synchro, HCS, or Sidra, traffic forecasting, and analysis of alternativesPerforms — all aspects of traffic safety studies including identifying and analyzing the existing crash trends and proposing mitigations, performing predictive safety analysis using HSM Part C, and being able to use various tools such as PowerBI, excel, IHSDM, or ISATe or HSS.Presents technical findings to internal project teams and Project Manager/Task leaderDocumentation including the development of the text, graphics, tables, etc. in technical memoranda and reportsFollows AECOM and client processes in performing quality control tasks of other engineers’ workWorks collaboratively with other discipline leads in the Michigan officeProposes approaches to solve new problems encountered and create efficiencies in work through the use of modifications to standard procedures or methods developed in previous assignmentsPerforms tasks in accordance with agreed-upon budget and schedule
