Job DescriptionThis position serves as a working manager and Equity and Inclusion Officer (EIO) responsible for developing and administering the Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Program for the Michigan Gaming Control Board (MGCB) in alignment with the organization’s mission, strategic direction, values, and goals. This position reports directly to the MGCB Director of External Affairs and Tribal Relations, which reflects the significance of diversity, equity, and inclusion to the department’s leadership and mission. This position serves as the leadership expert in diversity, equity, and inclusion, formulating and establishing overall department vision, policies, and priorities to ensure a sustainable, high-performing organization and workforce. This position partners with Executive Office staff on department-wide employee engagement efforts. This position will work closely with the Department of Civil Service’s Office of Human Resources (OHR) staff to ensure alignment between department processes, practices, and Civil Service responsibilities, regulations, and specifications. This position serves as the EIO responsible for complying with Executive Directive 2019-09 and Executive Directive 2019-10. The Michigan Gaming Control Board may consider alternative and hybrid (combination of remote and in-office) work schedule requests based on the operational needs of the work area. MGCB’s main office is located at 3062 West Grand Boulevard, Detroit, MI; however, MGCB has a satellite office in Lansing and offices located in Greektown Casino, MGM Grand – Detroit, and MotorCity Casino. Not all MGCB positions have the capability to work remotely due to the nature of the position. For positions approved to work a hybrid schedule, MGCB requires a minimum of two in-office days each week. Periodic onsite teamwork, collaboration, and communication with peers and leaders is required for all positions and is essential to the position's success and MGCB’s mission and values. Selected candidates approved to work a hybrid schedule, must complete remote work within Michigan. Eligibility for a hybrid schedule will be determined by management and is not an entitlement.
