Description We are assisting a government entity with an accounting assistant position, if you have the skills and experience outlines below, you may be a great fit for this position.Responsibilities:
Accounts Payable (AP):
Process vendor invoices and expense reports.
Verify accuracy of invoices, resolve discrepancies, and ensure timely payments.
Maintain vendor relationships and address inquiries.
Accounts Receivable (AR):
Generate and send customer invoices.
Monitor and follow up on outstanding receivables.
Reconcile accounts receivable ledger to ensure accuracy.
Reconciliations:
Perform monthly bank and account reconciliations.
Investigate and resolve discrepancies identified during reconciliations.
Payroll:
Process employee payroll accurately and in compliance with regulations.
Ensure timely submission of payroll taxes and other related filings.
Address employee payroll inquiries and discrepancies.
Manage payroll processes specific to union agreements and regulations.
Coordinate with union representatives and ensure compliance with contractual obligations.
Requirements
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or related field.
Proficient in Excel and other accounting software.
Strong attention to detail and analytical skills.
Knowledge of payroll processing and union regulations.
Familiarity with BSA regulations is a plus.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
