Record customer natural gas usage in handheld computer and provide quality customer service by reading meters, inspecting meters and equipment and providing information to customers. Perform other duties as assigned. Report to assigned leader.
Responsibilities:
Record customer natural gas usage. Obtain assigned route and handheld computer unit.
Accurately read and record meter readings for all types of meters.
Report irregularities in meter reading or in gas consumption. Inform supervisor of any discrepancies. Report suspected cases of diversion.
Report meter installation not conforming to company rules.
Report meters not listed in handheld. Report gas leaks on service lines, broken meters and service seals. Change meter indexes and index covers as required. Provide customer service.
Relay customer requests to appropriate personnel. Handle minor customer complaints
Common duties as assigned by management. Complete periodic pipeline safety surveys as required. Complete records and forms as required
May paint meters or perform collections and dis-connection of meters
QUALIFICATIONS
HS Diploma/GED
Must be able to work in all weather conditions
Lots of walking involved
May encounter customers dogs
