We are looking for a Journeyman Electrician, who will have a mix of Journeymen and Apprentice Industrial Electrician experience. This team will work on electrical installation for cable trays, connections of motors, sensors, modules, cabinets, and will be working according to our electrical schematics and following installation instructions to ensure success on site.
We are looking for a self-motivated and flexible team player! The electrician team will be working closely with our supervisor on site, our client, and partners to ensure our service is being provided with the highest standards.
This position will be located at a site in Newport, MI for a year long plus contract.
As the Journeyman Electrician, you will lead the electrical team to:
· Read Electric Drawings + plan and install all electrical components and cables.
· Prepare tools and work schedule to accomplish project targets.
· Identify improvements in electrical schematics and installations.
· Use various electrical tools, such as voltmeter, electrical pliers, wire stripper, hand, and power tools, etc.
· Take the lead if site manager is absent from job location.
After the installation, you will:
· Locate sources of problems by observing electrical devices in operation; listening for problems; using precision measuring and testing instruments.
· Perform IO Testing
· Conduct an independent error search, diagnostic and correction before and at ramp up production.
· Ensure operation of machinery and mechanical equipment by completing checks on motors, pneumatic tools, cameras, conveyor systems, and production machines; following diagrams, sketches, operations manuals, manufacturer's instructions, and engineering specifications; troubleshooting malfunctions.
· Sign necessary electrical changes in the existing electrical schematics.
· Adjust functional parts of devices and control instruments by using the necessary tools.
· Maintain technical knowledge by attending educational workshops and reviewing technical publications.
· Maintain continuity among work teams by documenting and communicating actions.
· Maintain safe and clean working environment by complying with procedures, rules, and regulations.
· Contribute to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.
As the Journeyman Electrician, your background should include:
· Master Electrician Certification (preferred, but not required).
· Extensive experience with electrical drawings, cabinet wiring, and the ability to read electrical schematics.
· At least 2 years of experience doing electrical work.
· Strong verbal communication skills.
· Willingness to work on weekends, as needed.
As part of the job requirements, you must be able to:
· Walk up and down stairs and around jobsite obstacles.
· Lift work-related supplies and equipment weighing up to 35 lbs.
· Wear and work in personal protective equipment.
This is an essential position that may require attendance on weekends and holidays to meet production and/or completions schedule.
Job Type: Full-time
· OT Eligible at 1.5X the base Wage Rate
· Expected Scheduled Hours: 40 – 60 hours per week.
Schedule:
· 8-10-hour shifts
· Monday to Friday (Weekends as needed)
· No nights
· Overtime Eligible
