Job DescriptionHybrid:This role is categorized as hybrid. This means the successful candidate is expected to report to Milford Proving Ground three times per week , at minimum or other frequency dictated by the business.The RoleThe System Engineer for Brake by Wire leads the System Integrity development that ensures the Brake by wire system will be monitored and assessed through persistent observation of system inputs and component outputs along with periodic functional checks before, during, and after vehicle operation.What You’ll Do

Input to the System Integrity team capabilities roadmap for Brake By Wire technology

Supports the Brake by Wire System Integrity Team whose main goal is to develop requirements, define use cases and test cases, gain alignment of the prioritization, roll-out, and minimal viable product (MVP) definition for brake by wire related systems aligned to program milestones

Supports scope definition and directs stakeholders to enable diagnostic performance monitoring capability development

Authors and directs new EPICs and CR’s required for System Integrity and Braking related content

Escalates and ensures timely resolution of system related technical issues

Leads the System Integrity team in execution of all SE work products and responsibilities including development of technical requirements, SFMEA, Integration efforts, issue troubleshooting (PRTS), X-program CRs

Works with SAFe ARTS on required software changes (planning, prioritization, technical support)

Works with stakeholders to ensure downstream requirements and customer expectation for brake performance related systems are consumed and met with high quality and reliability and meets safety requirements

Collaborates with Validation/stakeholders on system verification/validation plans – drives team to create, template, and handoff standard work

Support vehicle development, integration & performance activities for vehicle dynamics systems

Lead integration activities for assigned features and programs

Identify and document system vulnerabilities and craft mitigation action plans; track corrective actions

Generate & implement development plans that involve modeling, Software-In-the Loop (SIL), Hardware-In-the-Loop (HIL) and vehicles

Identify and resolve vehicle integration & performance issues found throughout the vehicle development cycle

Support diverse teams of system engineers & feature owners in developing requirements through modeling, simulating & testing new features to ensure requirements are correct

Ensure all requirements are in validation plan and understood by validation team

Additional Job DescriptionYour Skills & Abilities (Required Qualifications)

Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Physics or a related engineering degree

Minimum of 7+ years of post-graduation engineering experience

Possess a valid driver’s license with the ability to operate test vehicles

What Will Give You A Competitive Edge (Preferred Qualifications)

Strong understanding of Vehicle Dynamics

Experience in one of the following areas: vehicle dynamics, chassis controls, calibration, software, systems engineering, vehicle integration or electrical system design

Experience with either vehicle development or virtual development (MiL, SiL, HiL, DiL)
