Employment Type:Full timeShift:Description:POSITION PURPOSEThe Vice President Strategic Growth, Access and Physician Relationships will lead, facilitate and support strategy and other business development initiatives across all health segments and geographies with primary responsibility to help Trinity Health balance and expand its portfolio in both existing and new services and markets. This position will be responsible for all aspects of the management of strategic growth opportunities and serves as a strategic advisor to system executives and regional leadership teams regarding growth initiatives. Collaborates with regional and system colleagues in finance, legal, IT, innovation and clinical functions to achieve the goals and deliverables outlined above and to ensure key stakeholder engagement and communication as these opportunities are pursued.Primary leadership responsibility for developing short- and long-term strategic goals and plans ensuring alignment with broader organization priorities as well as transactional processes at the system and regional levels. Supports Trinity Health leaders in reaching goals for priority service lines and development of clinical ecosystem strategy, new programs and services.Applies understanding and experience of the unique dynamics of a variety of segments such as senior care, home care, PACE, Medical groups, ambulatory care, urgent care and hospital settings in order to provide advisory and process support to our health segments and Health Service Area (HSA) teams.Position is remote with travel required as needed.ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONSKnows, understands, incorporates and demonstrates the mission, vision and values of Trinity Health in leadership behaviors, practices and decisions.Maintains a working knowledge of applicable Federal, State and local laws and regulations, Trinity Health’s Organizational Integrity Program, Standards of Conduct, as well as other policies and procedures in order to ensure adherence in a manner that reflects honest, ethical and professional behavior.Key contributor in the evaluation and development of new strategic growth opportunities. Develops strategic options and scenarios across myriad of structures, solutions, and analytic processes to inform and drive strategic decision making.Develops and manages the project timelines to ensure time sensitive activities occur and appropriate System resources are engaged in a timely fashion. Communicates “lessons learned” and implement into ongoing processes.Communicates and oversees the strategic growth initiatives, preparing governance, sponsoring organization, regulatory and other deliverables as necessary.Assembles and leads cross-functional teams inclusive of internal and external members.Leads strategic capital decisions for transactions and major capital projects, including budget management of transaction costs and providing recommendations regarding capital commitment and other funding mechanisms.Respond to barriers impacting growth with new and innovative solutions that enable meaningful transformation for the physician and patient experience.Directs the due diligence process through closing and ensures the transition of acquired entities, directing activities with senior management such as investigating target organization’s background and history, and analyses/evaluation of mission, management, regulatory factors, culture, quality of earnings, overall integrity of financial information, employee benefits, compliance/tax/legal exposures, insurance programs, quality of clinical services, real estate and technology/implementation systems. Directs the development of transition plans and implementation efforts ensuring a cross-functional work team is prepared to successfully execute integration or divestiture.Possess a deep understanding of the unique market dynamics and healthcare eco-system of Trinity Health regions – and vigorously advocate for and/or reject opportunities using strategic, operational and financial criteria and stakeholder engagement process.Serves as a principal negotiator in transactions and partnerships with the goal of securing most favorable terms for Trinity Health. Actively participates in drafting and review of legal documents, in partnership with legal colleagues.Works closely with strategy, clinical, technology, finance, legal, and other operational executives on all aspects of the transaction (e.g. define key opportunities to improve performance of potential target hospital or health systems, help resolve business issues, develop transition plans, etc.) and ensures smooth transition into integration planning and implementationIdentifies and leads the analysis required to inform decision-making. Will be responsible for quick turnaround and deep dive into all relevant information. Includes working with Trinity Health colleagues, consultants, external counsel and investment bankers to evaluate all information in electronic data rooms, identify key business trends, identify key operational improvement opportunities, assess risk areas and provide understanding of partner organization and strategy. Synthesize findings for presentation to executive management.Accurately determine the potential capital, operational and strategic needs of Trinity Health’s segments and service areas and determine return metrics, both quantitative and qualitative.Provides strategic direction on business development related issues. Works effectively as a team member in a dynamic executive environment in a matrix organization and promotes teamwork within and across the organization by maintaining positive relationships and utilizing effective problem-solving skills.Develops strategies to ensure effective market positioning in alignment with system and regional direction. Enhances and develops relationships with community, employers, organizations and groups as needed to create business development opportunities. Implements strategies to protect the organization's market share.Ensures application of various strategic planning and quality improvement tools such as environmental scanning, risk assessment, portfolio analysis, capital planning competitive benchmarking, etc. Prepares, analyzes and implements business development strategies consistent with organization strategy.Develops and provides consultation to identify or assess strategies to better meet customer needs. Provides consultative services in the areas of strategic and service line development, planning, analytics, and satisfaction. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONSMust possess a broad and deep knowledge of healthcare industry trends, strategies, economics, governance elements and interdependencies as normally obtained through completion of a master's degree in Business, Healthcare Administration or a related field, strong financial and/or analytical background and ten (10) years of increasingly responsible experience in relevant roles, or a comparable combination of education and experience.Demonstrated senior leadership experience and/or potential (e.g., increasingly promoted within current organization and/or led substantial initiatives in current role) in a health care organization, management consulting, or investment banking firm.Must be able to operate effectively in a collaborative, shared leadership environment.
