Accountant

Description We are providing an opportunity for an Accountant to join our team located in Livonia, Michigan. In this role, you will be engaged in various accounting tasks such as account reconciliations, general ledger management, and month and year-end close operations. This role offers a long-term contract employment opportunity. Responsibilities: Manage and ensure accuracy and compliance in account reconciliations Oversee month and year-end close procedures, ensuring all financial information is accurate Maintain the general ledger, ensuring all financial data is recorded accurately and in a timely manner Prepare and understand journal entries, documenting business transactions efficiently Collaborate effectively with the accounting team to improve financial procedures and ensure understanding of data and metrics Identify and address discrepancies and irregularities in financial entries, reports, and statements Use accounting IT system to run reports, carry out research and update financial data Contribute to forecasting and budget planning sessions Perform additional accounting duties and responsibilities as needed Use skills such as General Ledger, Journal Entries, Account Reconciliation, Bank Account Reconciliation, Month End Close, Year End Closings, Accounts Payable (AP) to fulfill the tasks.
