Payroll Clerk

Description We are offering a contract to permanent employment opportunity for a Payroll Clerk in Lansing, Michigan. This role involves reporting to the Payroll Manager and working with a team of 6-7 members. You will be processing payrolls for 500 employees, requiring strong communication skills and proficiency in QuickBooks and ADP. This role is not limited to candidates with specific industry experience, as we are open to training individuals with transferable skills. Key responsibilities: Accurate and timely processing of payroll Ensuring clear and effective communication within the team and with clients Utilizing QuickBooks and ADP for payroll processing Multitasking and managing data entry tasks Collaborating with a team of 6-7 people to meet payroll deadlines Maintaining a positive work environment and contributing to team retention Training and development of transferable skills for payroll processing Managing and resolving any payroll-related inquiries from employees. Requirements Proficiency in ADP - Payroll processing Experience with QuickBooks accounting software Strong Microsoft Excel skills Ability to multitask effectively Proficient in data entry tasks Understanding of general payroll procedures Knowledge of federal and state regulations related to salaries, wages, and benefits Excellent attention to detail and accuracy in entering payroll information Good organizational skills for maintaining payroll records Ability to work independently and as part of a team Good communication skills for interacting with employees regarding their pay and benefits Problem-solving skills to resolve payroll discrepancies Ability to handle confidential information discretely.
