Job Title: Medical Laboratory ScientistJob DescriptionWe are seeking a dedicated Medical Laboratory Scientist to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for performing routine and complex technical procedures to ensure accurate and timely test results, contributing to quality patient care. This role requires proficiency in operating and troubleshooting laboratory instrumentation, as well as the ability to make technical decisions regarding testing and problem-solving.Responsibilities

Determine the acceptability of specimens for testing according to established criteria.

Perform routine and complex technical procedures and functions according to departmental Standard Operating Procedures.

Monitor, operate, and troubleshoot instrumentation to ensure proper functionality.

Demonstrate the ability to make technical decisions regarding testing and problem-solving.

Prepare, test, and evaluate new reagents or controls.

Report accurate and timely test results to deliver quality patient care.

Perform and document preventive maintenance and quality control procedures.

Identify and replenish testing bench supplies as necessary.

Assist with the processing of specimens when needed.

Maintain a safe work environment and wear appropriate personal protective equipment.

Essential Skills

Bachelor's degree in Biology, Chemistry, Clinical Laboratory Science, Medical Technology, or a related field.

0-2 years of clinical laboratory testing experience.

State Medical Technologist license (if required).

ASCP or AMT certification (if required).

Ability to work independently and within a team environment.

Proficient with computers.

High level of attention to detail.

Strong communication and organizational skills.

Ability to pass a standardized color vision screen.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

Familiarity with laboratory information systems is a plus.

Work EnvironmentThe work environment includes working within a clinical laboratory setting. The candidate must be flexible to work overtime or other shifts depending on business needs. It is essential to maintain a safe work environment and wear appropriate personal protective equipment.Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $35.00 - $35.00Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
