Eurofins PSS is seeking a talented in vitro biologist that can contribute to our efforts in Global Therapeutics-Companion Animal Discovery.  The group partners with therapeutic areas and project teams to design novel substrate screening assays and build robust testing funnels for a variety of therapeutic approaches that improve diseases or conditions in companion animals (cats, dogs, horses). The successful candidate should have at least 1 year of relevant experience executing cell-free and cell-based in vitro screens for evaluation of substrate (biotherapeutics and small molecule).  Experience with developing and/or optimizing plate-based cellular assays and analyzing data from in vitro screens are a plus.  Excellent communication, organizational and interpersonal skills are essential.POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES:Develop, optimize, and execute cell-free (e.g., ligand binding, biochemical) and cell-based in vitro screening assays for assessing substrate potency (small molecule and biotherapeutics)Perform immune-based techniques such as AlphaLISA, Luminex, ELISA, flow cytometry, immunohistochemistry, etc.  Apply a variety of cellular and molecular techniques to develop cellular models of disease for veterinary speciesCell culture and aseptic technique; maintenance of primary and immortalized/recombinant cell linesIsolation of primary cells from tissues or whole blood (PBMC isolation)Experience with RNA extraction and qPCR techniques a plusData analysis and interpretation; maintenance of an accurate lab notebook and presentation of data at team meetingsCollaborate across multiple scientific disciplines
