We seek a retired skilled tradesman or pipefitter to work on average 6 - 15 hours per month. This job involves repairing compressed air leaks in manufacturing plants. Our leak auditors tag the leaks; this position repairs them after they are tagged. Most leaks are on hoses, where a screwdriver and wrench can fix them. We do not repair all the leaks as some are complicated and require components/parts of equipment to be removed, and we stay away from repairing these leaks and request the company repair them themselves.
This is not steady work. You can work for a week and then not work again for 2 - 3 weeks. Some companies we work with fix their leaks, and others ask us to repair them.
The pay is as follows:
- Work 1 - 10 Hours per month and earn $40.00 per hour plus mileage
- Work 11 - 20 hours per month and earn $45.00 per hour plus mileage
- Work 21+ hours per month and earn $50.00 per hour plus mileage
After 90 days of good service, the 1 - 10 hour rate is $45.00, and the 11+ hour rate is $50.00.
