Primary responsibilities include writing reports, dashboards, creating data sets, executing test plans and creating reporting documentation. We’re committed to a diverse and inclusive community.Responsibilities ● Create, design and execute dashboards/data visualizations and operational reporting using the campus software reporting tools. Including but not limited to WebFOCUS and SQL Developer● Plan, create and support self-service data tools● Document reporting specifications● Prepare and execute test plans● Review/understand university processes/procedures and make recommendations for improvements● Provide occasional support outside of regular business operating hours including evenings and weekends.● Maintain university data dictionary● Prioritize work in line with institutional expectations● Work independently and as part of a team● Commit to learning about continuous improvement strategies and applying them to everyday work. Actively engage in University continuous improvement initiatives● Apply safety-related knowledge, skills, and practices to everyday work● Other duties as assignedRequired Education, Certifications, Licensures ● Bachelor’s degree in business/data analytics, computer science, management information systems or technically related field or an equivalent combination of education and experience from which comparable knowledge and abilities can be acquired Required Experience ● Demonstrated professional experience using a query based reporting tool to create reports and dashboards (e.g. WebFOCUS or Tableau) ● Demonstrated professional experience and understanding of complex table joins and database query languagesDesirable Education and/or Experience ● Experience in an academic environment● Experience using Oracle, Ellucian Banner, and/or Information Builders WebFOCUS● Experience with data governanceRequired Knowledge, Skills, and/or Abilities ● Demonstrated ability to analyze data, processes, and complex situations to determine a best course of action using problem solving and analytical skills● Excellent organizational skills and ability to balance multiple priorities and objectives● Demonstrated ability to work with accuracy, precision, and attention to detail● Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively across cultural boundaries and work harmoniously with diverse groups of students, faculty, and staff Desirable Knowledge, Skills, and/or Abilities ● Experience working on projects in a project management environment ● Demonstrated success in, or potential future contributions to, working with persons from diverse backgrounds, creating a sense of belonging, and fostering a fair, objective, welcoming place to work for persons with a wide variety of personal characteristics and viewpoints. Work Environment and/or Physical Demands The work environment is that of a typical office setting.
